Soft-proofing / Virtual or Monitor Proofs
This idea technology was introduced years ago, without success and was
forced to be forgotten, until NOW! There are several software and
solutions, where this is possible and sometimes even better than a hard
proof. Due to the calibration software adapted by a handful of monitor
manufacturers and the proper tools, these monitors which offer 100%
reproduction of the Adobe® RGB gamut, as well as the ISOcoated v2, have
earned Fogra & UGRA certification, can actually close match the
L*a*b* values of the printed sheet.

It has come to my attention, recently, that the quality of soft proofing relies mostly on the spectro that one is using. Because various spectros have various achieved standards and also give widely variable readings (even within the same brand name). I would like to hear some comments on this?
